Busch Mountain Fishing Intelligence (BMFI) is operated by Busch Mountain Fishing Guide Service. This policy explains the information BMFI may process, why it is used, the services involved in operating the app, and the choices available to users.
Information BMFI may process
- Account information such as email address, name, phone number, account role, subscription status, and authentication records.
- Guided-trip request information such as requested dates, trip type, target species, party size, contact information, notes, booking status, and scheduled-trip details.
- Guide Direct questions, responses, and photos you choose to attach.
- Fishing observations and trip/water-log information submitted by authorized guides.
- Text fishing-intelligence questions and selected waterbody/species submitted to AI-assisted features.
- Device location when you grant location permission for map/location features.
- Technical information needed to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the service.
- Subscription and purchase entitlement information after paid subscriptions are enabled. Raw payment-card details are handled by the applicable app-store/payment provider rather than stored by BMFI.
- Push-notification tokens and alert preferences after push notifications are enabled.
How information is used
BMFI uses information to provide and secure accounts, deliver fishing intelligence, display maps and conditions, process trip requests, operate Guide Direct, maintain subscription access, send requested service communications and notifications, support guide-service operations, prevent abuse, troubleshoot errors, and improve reliability.
Fishing and AI recommendations are planning information only. They do not guarantee fish location, fishing success, weather, water conditions, navigation clearance, or safety.
Service providers
BMFI uses service providers to operate app features. These may include Supabase for authentication, database, storage, and server functions; OpenAI or another configured AI service for text-based AI-assisted fishing features; Google services for mapping, email, calendar, and Android platform functions; Expo/EAS for app build and delivery infrastructure; RevenueCat for subscription entitlement and billing management; Google Play as the Android payment processor and for Android distribution; and other infrastructure providers used by Busch Mountain Fishing Guide Service.
Information is shared with service providers only as needed to provide the applicable feature or operate the service. Busch Mountain Fishing Guide Service does not sell users’ personal information to advertisers.
Location
If location permission is granted, BMFI may use device location to show the user’s position or provide location-aware map functionality. Users may deny or revoke location permission through device settings and continue using features that do not require location.
Photos and AI submissions
Photos submitted through Guide Direct are stored in private account-scoped storage for the Guide Direct service. Guide Direct photos are NOT sent to the AI provider for interpretation. Text questions submitted to AI-assisted fishing features may be processed by the configured AI provider to generate responses.
Data retention
Account-specific app data is retained while needed to provide the account and service, subject to operational, security, dispute-resolution, and legal requirements. When an eligible customer account is deleted, BMFI deletes the authentication account and deletable personal app data such as the profile, subscription entitlement records, Guide Direct messages/attachments, notifications, and unscheduled account-linked requests.
Guided-trip, transaction, accounting, safety, or business records may be retained when reasonably necessary to provide Busch Mountain Fishing Guide Service, maintain business records, resolve disputes, prevent fraud or abuse, or comply with legal obligations. Where appropriate, app-account linkage is removed from retained business records.
Account and data deletion
Eligible customer accounts can be deleted from BMFI under My Account → Privacy & Data → Delete My Account. An outside-the-app deletion path is also available on the BMFI Account & Data Deletion page.
Guide and administrator accounts are business/staff accounts tied to operational records and must be removed through Busch Mountain Fishing Guide Service so historical assignments and business records can be preserved correctly.
Security
BMFI uses access controls, authenticated server functions, row-level database security, private storage for Guide Direct files, and other technical measures intended to protect information. No system can guarantee absolute security.
Children’s privacy
BMFI is not designed to knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. Guided fishing involving minors is arranged through a parent, guardian, or other responsible adult.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as BMFI features, service providers, or legal requirements change.
