Beaver Tailwaters Report | June

Current Conditions

Fishing on the Beaver Tailwaters remains good despite changing conditions throughout the system. Limited generation schedules over the past several weeks have resulted in warmer-than-normal water temperatures, causing trout to spread throughout the river rather than stacking heavily in traditional deep runs and shoals. Recent conduit releases have helped improve conditions and add cooler water to the system.

Trout Report

Rainbow trout continue to provide steady action throughout the river. Anglers are finding success by slowing down, making natural presentations, and covering water thoroughly. Early mornings and lower-light periods have been especially productive. Fish remain scattered due to the warmer water conditions, making mobility and patience important factors for success.

Walleye Report

White River walleye fishing remains fair to good. Fish are transitioning into their summer patterns and can be found relating to current breaks, deeper runs, and structure throughout the system. Anglers willing to spend time locating fish are being rewarded with quality catches.

Outlook

As cooler water continues to move through the tailwater system and generation patterns stabilize, fishing should remain productive heading into summer. Expect trout to continue feeding best during the early morning hours and during periods of moving water.

Beaver Lake Fishing Report

Lake Conditions

Beaver Lake is currently sitting near seasonal pool levels and water temperatures have climbed into the upper 70s across much of the lake. Water clarity remains clear to slightly stained depending on location. The thermocline is beginning to establish itself in many areas of the reservoir, pushing baitfish and predator species into more defined summer patterns.

Walleye Report

Walleye fishing continues to improve as fish settle into their early summer locations. Productive areas have included points, humps, roadbeds, and transition areas adjacent to deeper water. Anglers are finding fish in both shallow and deeper feeding zones depending on light conditions and bait activity.

The best action has come around areas holding perch and other forage species. Early morning and evening periods continue to provide the most consistent bite.

Bass Report

Smallmouth bass and spotted bass fishing has been very good. Fish are relating to rocky structure, points, bluff ends, and offshore cover. Many fish are beginning to group up around baitfish and can be caught throughout the day when conditions are favorable.

Striper Report

Stripers are beginning to establish summer patterns and are being found around main lake structure, timber, and areas holding large schools of baitfish. Oxygen levels and water temperatures will become increasingly important as summer progresses.

Outlook

Summer fishing on Beaver Lake is heating up. Walleye, bass, and stripers are all available for anglers willing to adapt to changing conditions. Focus on locating baitfish first, and the predator fish are usually not far behind.
